November 4, 2021 my mother, 93 years old, admitted to Evergreen Personal Care, Washington PA. Her husband was not able to care for her at home as it was no longer safe. It was time to make a transition. We toured various places. When we toured Evergreen there was something different. We knew we were home.
The LPN, Shona, was phenomenal and answered questions professionally with compassion. She made us feel comfortable and welcomed.
The ambiance was warm and inviting with staff greeting us with smiles.
On move in day, Ashley the CNA came out to the car to assist Mom and transferred her with love into the wheelchair. Mom and Ashley connected. Ashley and other caregivers gave Mom the care she so deserved. They all loved her as Mom was their own. And Mom loved them as well. She would encourage them and tell them she was praying for them.
Then the time came to add hospice to Mom's care. We chose Gateway hospice which provided stellar care in addition to the excellent care already provided by Evergreen.
August 6, 2022 Mom passed on to be with the Lord. Her 2 "boys", Rusty and Terrell (both CNA's) were with her that early morning. When I arrived they were waiting for me as they knew "Miss Donna" would want to know that her daughter was safe. We hugged and cried together!
The CEO, Nick Hall, was always a phone call away if I had concerns or questions. Nick is very easy to talk to and gets things done quickly.
Not only did the staff take care of my mother but they took care of our family as well. I will be forever grateful for the love and care my mother received during her last days.
Thank you to each and everyone.
